Take Action

Want to help? Here's what you can do

Write Premier Gordon Campbell. Ask him to take action to protect the wildlife and rivers of BC's southern Rockies by implementing a conservation plan that includes:

  1. protection of the lower Flathead Valley as part of a wilderness zone (an area with no new development) within an expanded Waterton Lakes National Park

  2. a legislated Wildlife Management Area for the remaining public lands in the region that makes the needs of wildlife a priority, while accommodating other uses where compatible, and

  3. an international conservation agreement to cooperate in management of the Flathead watershed as a whole.

Address your letters to:

Honourable Gordon Campbell
Premier of British Columbia
Po Box 9041, Stn Prov Govt,
Victoria, BC V8W 9E1
Fax: 250.387.0087

  2. an international agreement to cooperate in management of the Flathead watershed as a whole

"The safe movement of animals like grizzly bears and wolves - species essential to the health of forests in both our nations - is increasingly jeopardized in the Waterton/Glacier area, threatening the integrity of the entire Yellowstone to Yukon region."
